SherriNell Graven-Childs was born August 19, 1956, in Des Moines. She was the daughter of Jim and Lois (Lawton) Graven. SherriNell attended Jefferson Community High School in Jefferson and Simpson College in Indianola.
SherriNell married Glenn Childs in 1985. She was a drafting designer for many years. She also worked for several years for the local Jefferson school system and genuinely enjoyed working with children.
SherriNell enjoyed flowers, animals, especially her cats, and shopping for others. She loved to give to others. SherriNell, above all, loved being with her family.
SherriNell passed away on April 8, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, with her family by her side. She is remembered by her husband Glenn; son Brandon; step-daughters Bonnie and Julie and their families; brothers Randy Graven (Judi Butterfield) and Dennis Graven, all of Jefferson; and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Greene County High School wrestling room at the Field House, or the Jefferson public library.
